El Túnel de Guajataca is one of the best sightseeing places on the northwest coast of Puerto Rico.
The Guajataca Tunnel is a historical nature park, located right between the towns of Isabela and Quebradillas. The beautiful Guajataca River divides both. Entrance and parking are free through Rt.2 in Quebradillas.
As you enter, you will find food carts, Puerto Rican artisans and crafts, and more. As you walk toward the entrance of the tunnel, you will see murals created by local artists, perfect for photo opportunities, selfies, and family pictures. Walk thru the tunnel and discover a paradise, where you can view the magnificent Atlantic Ocean, rocky areas, and nature in all its splendor.
The tunnel is a remnant of the sugar cane era, as the railway was used to transport sugar cane from the farms in the area. It was founded in 1906.
