Imagine having a nice, cold craft beer in hand, a smoky, savory rib on your plate while you’re surrounded by an amazing tropical botanical garden and you’re just starting to get an idea of what awaits you August 1st at this years BBQ and Brews festival in Caguas.

Plenty of smoke and suds to try
More than 20 beer distributors and some of the top microbreweries on the Island will join forces with top local pitmasters and restaurants for this one day event at the Caguas Botanical Garden from 3pm to 11pm.

A great festival in a beautiful historic setting
The activities will take place in several “villages” that will be set up on the garden’s grounds so you can walk around, sample, sip and even play beer games: pong, cornhole etc. This is a great event for the family and is even pet-friendly. While you’re there you can learn about the different endemic and rare tress and plants that surround you. It’s also a place steeped in history. The Taíno Indians were established here for millenia. It later became a Spanish hacienda during colonial times. Taíno petroglyphs and slave quarters remain as testament to its rich past.

Guided Tasting sessions at BBQ and Brews
Three different guided tasting sessions will be held in the afternoon led by local breweries and importers. You can even participate in a beer/bbq pairing scavenger hunt and vote for your favorite combination on a supplied scorecard. There are more fun offerings on the agenda that will be announced closer to the date. A salsa group and a rock band will be rounding out the activities that culminate at 11pm.
